Do I need to be physically fit to attend the event?
No, there is no physical activity required as part of the event. However, there will be some free time during the event for men to exercise if they wish.
Are there any group sharing sessions?
No, there are no mandatory group activities as the event is primarily about you and God. You can of course share with your friends and other men if you wish (around the camp fire in the evening is a great opportunity for this).
Are the different events standalone or do they need to be attended in order?
Each of our weekend events are designed to be stand-alone events and therefore suitable for newcomers to A&D as well as those that have attended a previous event before. You do not need to have come on one of our previous events to attend.
Can I bring my Son / Father?
We advise against fathers and sons attending Restored together as the event may uncover “father wounds” from a man’s past. Similar issues will be discussed at our other events but to a lesser extent. Please contact us via the website if you would like to understand more.
What is the minimum age for attending?
18 years old.
Can I have a timetable for the weekend?
No, this is not a normal retreat. We strive throughout the weekend to remove any unhelpful distractions to enable men to hear more clearly from God. We have found that not providing a detailed timetable removes another potential distraction.
Would you recommend reading any books before the event?
Yes, we highly recommend reading Wild at Heart or Waking the Dead by John Eldredge.
Can I arrive late or leave early?
We recommend attending the whole weekend for two reasons. Firstly, there is a flow to the material across the weekend and, secondly, we have found that the full weekend is often required to allow men the space to fully engage with God.
Can I share a room with my friend?
We cannot guarantee this, however, we will endeavour to put men together with other men that they know. Please leave a comment on the booking form if you wish to share with somebody in particular.
